ALUMINUM RECYCLING SAVES ENERGY

Startling aluminum recycling facts that the average consumer needs to know.

Did you know that it takes 95% less energy to recycle aluminum than create it

from raw materials?

And that the energy saved from recycling one ton of aluminum is equal to the amount of electricity used by an average home over 10 years or could fuel a car that gets 35 miles per gallon for 82,250 miles.

The energy saved each year through recycled cans could light the city of Washington D.C. for 3.7 years.

In 2002, worldwide, the energy equivalent of over 30 million barrels of crude oil was conserved through the recycling of aluminum beverage cans.

Reduces Emissions - Recycling aluminum requires less energy, so it produced 95% less emissions, such as greenhouse gases.

Conserves Natural Resources - Recycling aluminum helps conserve natural resources, such as bauxite and water.

Recycling one aluminum beverage can saves enough electricity to: power a TV for three hours, or a 100-watt light bulb for four hours.

Make a difference- Please remember to recycle.
