Thanks to the dedication demonstrated by Novelis employees, Novelis' 2004 America Recycles Day aluminum can recycling contest to benefit Habitat for Humanity was a great success.  A grand total of 38,355 pounds of cans were collected from thirteen participating communities in the United States.

Over $41,000 was donated to Habitat for Humanity affiliates across communities in Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, New York, Ohio and West Virginia.  The recipient of this year's $5,000 grand prize for their local Habitat affiliate is the Novelis Berea Recycling Plant. Employees and members of the local Berea, Kentucky community collected the most cans with 10,787 pounds as well as the toppling the average collected per employee at an astounding 98 lbs. per Berea employee.•
