Did you know that in addition to helping the environment, recycling aluminum cans is a method that helps to build homes for people? Cans for Habitat  (CFH) is a unique program that is a partnership between the Aluminum Association and Habitat for Humanity International that promotes the value of aluminum can recycling.

Novelis is a major supporter of the CFH program which recycles aluminum cans to raise money to build decent, affordable Habitat housing for low-income families nationwide. Established in 1997, the program now boasts close to 550 member affiliates and 2,200 participating recyclers.

To date, over $2 million has been raised through aluminum can recycling, to help build homes. If the cans that went to landfills in 2003 were recycled, the proceeds generated would have helped to build an additional 10,000 Habitat homes.
